Solid granite is the traditional choice for making pesto by hand, and this grey mortar is carved from a single stone. The weight keeps it perfectly still on the counter while you pound basil, garlic and pine nuts into a bright, textured sauce.
The outside is polished smooth and the inside is left slightly rough to grab leaves and seeds. It is roomy enough for a double batch of pesto or a fresh herb chimichurri. Pair it with any granite pestle you already own, or add one from our mortar collection.
